The Department of Literary Studies very much welcomes Visiting Researchers.

Information about obtaining a PhD at Ghent University is to be found on the website of the UGent Doctoral Schools.

The Department and its different research teams are willing to offer support in applying for mobility funding, e.g. for a joint PhD or a postdoctoral Marie Curie or similar fellowships. The Flemish Research Council (FWO-Vlaanderen) aims to attract excellent postdoctoral researchers to Flanders with its Marie Curie Pegasus fellowships for long (3 years) or short (1 year) research stays. The UGent Faculty of Arts and Humanities has is own Research Fund which provides grants for visiting postdocs (1-6 months). The Belgian American Educational Foundation offers fellowships for (1 year of) study or research in Belgium to applicants from the US.

More funding opportunities for incoming international mobility are listed here.

Please get in touch with individual members of staff for more detailed information, or with Elke.Gilson@UGent.be for help in finding your way around both the research conducted in our department and funding options.
